Cases of ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) are on a rise as more and more people are involved into active sports and also because of the high velocity two-wheeler accidents in the city. Knee injuries are very commonly mis-diagnosed and/or under-diagnosed initially because of its ignorance. ACL injury at the first sight is a clinical diagnosis as basic X-rays are usually with no bony injury. Patients with ACL injury should be splinted and immobilized at the scene of injury and should not bear weight on the affected knee, ICE fomentation should be started to prevent swelling & also decrease pain. Specialist opinion is very much required in the beginning to make a correct diagnosis of the injury and plan further management and course. Patients with ACL injury will usually have following symptoms: Pain, swelling & Instability of knee on bearing weight with painful movements of knee.
